What are Research Objects?

Multidimensional digital objects that encapsulate essential information about experiments and investigations to facilitate their reusability, reproducibility and better understanding.

They comprise scientific assets, including data used and produced, methods employed (e.g., scientific workflows), provenance and setting information, people involved and annotations about these resources.  See also http://www.researchobject.org/

The ROHub stores 2859 Research Objects, with 33197 resources and 30191 annotations.

Many research objects have been created from existing workflows in myExperiment or from new experiments by scientists in the bioinformatic and astronomy domain as part of the Wf4Ever project.
